As a result of a wildfire, residents of parts of Laguna Beach, California, USA, are under mandatory evacuation orders.
According to Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy, the fire, caused by strong winds, has already destroyed about 60 hectares of land. Scientists note that such weather is caused by global warming, exacerbating forest fires.
Southern California is experiencing unusually hot weather combined with Santa Ana winds, and this cataclysm won't stop for at least a few more weeks.
In just a week, more than 10,000 people lost their homes. More than 2,000 people have died, and 500 more are missing. Our mission is to help those who managed to evacuate and were left without a roof over their heads.
Our main goal now is to provide those who were forced to evacuate with basic necessities, food, drinks, and clothes.
We have organized a crisis volunteer office in the city of Fresno, CA. There we collect humanitarian aid to deliver it to the victims as soon as possible. Also, you can join us there as a volunteer.
Our foundation raises funds for the purchase of humanitarian aid and for the restoration of houses after fires. Unfortunately, some houses cannot be restored at all.
For those left without a roof over their heads, we are planning the construction of modular homes in cooperation with the mayor of California. We also need donations for this. Every cent counts for these people!
